Greetings from Rev.
Cheri
Dear Community,
Preparing for the Annual Meeting has been a
delightful walk down memory lane. So much has taken place throughout 2005 that
I am amazed, astonished, and deeply grateful for the adventure!
On a personal note, my move to Fort Collins from
Napa, CA has been the most amazing of all. Packing my bags, selling my condo
and making the move here has been a total act of faith. You have made it all
worthwhile! I have fallen in love with the Whole Life spiritual community, and
with Colorado. What’s not to love!
Through all my interactions during the week, in
classes, and on Sunday, I have been blessed to get to know a bunch of folks in a
more personal way. As we share from the depth of our being, bonds are created
that are precious and true. I treasure each class experience, and look forward
to being a part of many more lives as we deepen in our understanding of Life and
spiritual truths.
My Sundays with you have become my most favorite
day of the week. You have allowed me freedom to share in such a way that our
time together is joyful and meaningful. We have had much fun together. I think
of the touching Mother’s Day ritual of the moms beating the heartbeat of the
Universe on the Mother Drum; the costumes at Halloween; the autumn dress-up day,
complete with ball gowns and top hats; the outstanding music that stirs our
souls. We have shared a number of rituals that have touched our hearts, and we
have shared many a potluck that delighted our taste buds!
I am extremely appreciative of the folks who spent
a very amazing Saturday co-creating our new Vision and Mission statements. We
truly are “igniting an evolution of consciousness” in Fort Collins, and Northern
Colorado. I like to think that we are creating a place where the Global Heart
beats of Oneness and sings a song of divine potentiality.
I so appreciate the folks that show up to offer
sacred service. You clean, greet and serve as ushers, provide food for
hospitality, sell books, make repairs, beautify and bless the building and
grounds, and lend a hand in the office. You serve on the board, vision for the
highest good for Whole Life, and create the consciousness for Good and greater
Good. With heartfelt gratitude, I give thanks to Bobie Champlin for her
commitment to this historic facility and to the mastery with which she manages
things in the office.
My intention for 2006 is to see this spiritual
community as a haven for all who seek a personal relationship with Spirit in a
consciousness of Wholeness, Unconditional Love and acceptance in Peace. I long
to see Whole Life as a center for spiritual living where classes and special
events complement our Sunday Services and provide “Beyond Sunday” opportunities
for spiritual growth and personal expansion. I delight in the focus on the arts
as we feature the gifts, talents and abilities of our community members.
I dream of a facility that is expansive,
handicapped accessible, and provides space for conscious growth and significant
impact. I dream of a youth program that provides a safe, welcoming space for
children to be taught spiritual principles that assist parents in raising
conscious kids. I dream of a diverse community where all are welcomed,
accepted, loved and known. I look forward to expanding our practitioner core
and teaching unique and intriguing classes and workshops that serve to make life
easier and better as we deepen our walk with Spirit..
I give thanks for the precious building that houses
Whole Life. The building’s historic status and special needs truly make our
spiritual home a unique location in Old Town Fort Collins. As we move forward
this year, I ask your support in conscious stewardship for beautification and
maintenance of our home. As we take care of what we have, the perfect next home
will be revealed.
In Light and Love,
President’s
Report
Dearest Whole Life Church Family,
I want to start by honoring Rev. Cheri on her one
year anniversary. This past year has been a “honeymoon” year filled with much
joy, but also much change. It has required all of us to dig deep into our
spiritual tool bag to remain patient and loving through this time of
transition.
So here we are beginning the descent from the “New
Year” mountain top into 2006, and I have to say that I’m excited about the
possibilities for the Whole Life Church. Rev. Cheri has a year under her
spiritual belt and is finding a sense of belonging, purpose and vision for the
future.
This past year we developed new vision and mission
statements. What spiritual principles can we embody to support our vision of an
explosion of consciousness? One suggestion I have is inspired by 2006 being the
Chinese Year of the Dog. Dogs are such wonderful teachers and examples for us.
While each breed has different qualities and personalities, we also have our
unique talents and gifts to share. There are 3 qualities in particular that I
would like to offer up to you to embody at a higher level this year;
faithfulness, unconditional love, and playfulness.
In January’s SOM magazine Dr. Michael Beckwith
ways, “Thought communities must, if they’re going to remain viable, vibrate at a
higher consciousness than the society around them.” What the church can do is
teach the basic principles of Earnest Holmes, Don Miguel Ruiz in his book “The
Four Agreements”, and many other New Thought writers, in classes and on Sunday
morning.
What we can do as individuals is take advantage of
these opportunities, and on a more personal level we can follow the plan that is
my personal favorite:
Start each day with Love in your heart.
Be a loving presence throughout your
day.
End your day with gratitude for the
Love and Goodness that came your way.
Peace and Blessings to all,
Larry Werth, RScP

Proposed Bylaws
amendment
Background
In 2002, the Whole Life Church adopted a set of
bylaws which established the Core Council structure of management for our
church. These bylaws were modeled on the structure used by United Church of
Religious Science. Unfortunately, many of the structures used by a larger
organization do not apply to what we need to run our local church, and we find
ourselves out of integrity with that structure. In order to create bylaws which
support our new mission and vision, we are asking that the current bylaws, dated
January 20, 2002 be suspended.
With member agreement, for a one year period,
Whole Life Church of Religious Science will operate under the bylaws dated July
1997, which supported this community for many years prior to the adoption of the
current format. During this one year period, the Board of Trustees will oversee
the review and rewriting of bylaws that create a structure that is dynamic and
flexible and supports our growth for the coming years. At our Annual Meeting in
January 2007, we will present this new structure to you.
Proposal
Suspend the bylaws, dated January 20, 2002, and
adopt the bylaws dated July, 1997 for a period of one year. During this time,
the Board of Trustees will oversee the review and rewriting of bylaws that
create a structure that is dynamic and flexible and supports our growth for the
coming years. New bylaws will be presented at our Annual Meeting in January
2007.
